Riding Lessons at Arniss

From beginners to competition riders, improve your skills & enhance your enjoyment at Arniss

Arniss Equestrian is a British Horse Society Approved School with BHS trained and qualified staff. We have the horses, ponies, instructors and facilities to suit the needs of every rider – from absolute beginners to aspiring competition riders with their own horse.

We teach children from the age of 4. There is no upper age limit, but please note our upper weight limit is 14st.

Beginner riders (both adults and children) start off with half-hour lessons while they get to grips with the basics and build their riding confidence.

Once riding independently your instructor will recommend a suitable group.

We offer tuition every day.

Bookings may be made in person any time, or by telephone every day between 8.30am & 6pm. We will take your height, weight, experience and contact details and require payment at the time of booking.

Please see below some of our frequently asked questions.

How old do clients have to be to have riding lessons?
We can take clients from age 4, although at this young age we recommend starting with a walk out
What equipment do you provide?
We provide 'PAS015' standard skull caps and provide riding boots
What should clients wear?

We recommend that you wear long comfortable trousers (joggers or leggings tend to be more comfortable than jeans) and shoes or boots with a low heel. Trainers are not suitable

How long do the lessons last?

We recommend that you start off with a half hour lesson, although as you progress we have 1hour lessons available

Will I have the same instructor each time?

Yes as far as is practically possible. We believe that continuity with the same instructor helps you to progress
Do you give discounts for block bookings?

Yes, we also run offers from time to time so please ask at reception for any that may be available
